Educational support to Covid Orphans

It is estimated that Covid shattered dreams of 200 students who lost both parents and their future is in uncertainity. But thanks to the Govt of Telangana, Dept of Women & Child Welfare, SCSC, Cyberabad Police hope is on the cards that their educational needs are taken care
Hyderabad, Telangana: SCSC (Society for Cyberabad Security Council), Cyberabad Police together in Collaboration with Dept of Women & Child Welfare, Govt of Telangana pledges to support the Educational needs for Covid Orphans who lost both parents in the pandemic.
It is estimated that nearly 200 kids are orphaned in Telangana state. They have lost their parents in the pandemic and their future seems to be bleak for them and there is no support for their education. While most of the students are being taken care of by the Dept of Women & Child Welfare, Govt of Telangana by accommodating them in various Residential Government Schools located in Districts.
There are 40 orphans in four districts—Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Sanga Reddy and Medical. And most of them are studying in private schools.
Shifting them to government schools may have an adverse impact on their education. This is where SCSC, Cyberabad Police step in. Together with the support of SCSC’s members, they pledged to support the educational needs of 40 Covid Orphans from these four districts.
Out of 40 students, cheques were issued yesterday to the school management towards their tuition fee and textbooks for four students to begin with for the current academic year. And more will be extended support very soon.
All the students will be supported till the tenth class.
SCSC has entered into an MOU with the Dept of Women & Child Welfare, Govt of Telangana to extend support.
The cheques have been handed over to the management of Progress High School, Sri Chaitanya Techno School and Jr College by Ms. Divya Devarajan, IAS., Commissioner of Women & Safety, Govt of Telangana, Ms. C Anusuya, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad and Mr Krishna Yedula, General Secretary of SCSC at the office of the DWCW located at Yousufguda.
SCSC will be extending support not only in these 4 districts but also to the orphans from across the State in collaboration with the Dept of Women & Child Welfare. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Divya Devarajan, IAS., Commissioner, Women & Child welfare appreciated the gesture by SCSC in complementing the efforts of the Government and supporting financial support towards the education of these orphans.
Ms. Anasuya, while interacting with orphans and their guardians said, it is important that we provide a good support system for these orphans to continue their studies and excel in academics for their better future.
Mr. Krishna Yedula says, SCSC has always been at the forefront especially during the pandemic and has supported the society through its initiatives jointly with Cyberabad Police under the able leadership of Sri VC Sajjanar, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad & Chairman SCSC. Supporting this noble cause is divine in nature and we at SCSC will go all out to help Covid Orphans, he says.
