Bhukkads is the original word for passionate foodies – people who strive for food.
North Indian Bhukkads started as a quick-service restaurant in 2016 and soon built a loyal community of food lovers. It was a welcomed taste of authentic cuisine for everyone in North Bangalore. In 2018, owing to its growing popularity NIB expanded into a well-serviced dine-in restaurant.
To expand a business at the brink of the world’s biggest known pandemic would have crushed any entrepreneur, but the entire team at NIB stood on strong ground. They continued to serve people around the Manyata Tech Park through delivery apps and today are still a favourite in the area.
We spoke to Vaibhav and Nitin, the founders of NIB and asked them the reason they chose North Indian cuisine in a South Indian state. “North Indian food is a sentiment, the dishes have multiple preparation steps and taste is an amalgamation of various flavours, each touching a different aspect of your taste buds. Getting North Indian cuisine right is a challenge, especially in a city that is home to people who are well travelled and knowledgeable. Apart from being one of the fastest growing cities in India, people who moved to Bangalore still complained about the lack of good north Indian food. Social media is often flooded with these comments. It was thus a good time to start a venture that addressed this gap and North Bangalore was a strategic decision”.
Authenticity is the heart of NIB, we ensure we do not compromise on quality and taste. Every dish goes through a process of preparation with perfection. With a distinct dhaba-style vibe, NIB features dishes that you commonly find in the streets and bylanes of many cities spread across Northern India. Serving the most lip-smacking kebabs, tikkas and samosas along with other delectable vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that the world loves like rajma chawal and butter paneer, NIB has something for everyone! NIB also serves the most scrumptious breakfast delicacies like chhole bhatures and parathas.
Mouth-watering right? You can always hop onto Swiggy, Zomato or Dunzo and place your orders right away.
After a successful stint pre and post covid, NIB is all set to expand its operations across Bangalore. The team is open to exploring options for franchising and funding however they will take extreme care to ensure that the authenticity of the food and quality of service remain unchanged.
The duo concludes, “Working with partners can bring in some exciting new proposals for the brand which can help us grow tremendously, although at the same time it is imperative that on our journey to grow from being a restaurant to becoming a brand, we partner with people who have the same passion for food and business that we do”.
After feeding the bhukkads of North Bangalore, NIB is geared up to capture the hearts and palettes of bhukkads from across Bangalore, in the meantime head out to Nagwara or have the yummy food delivered where you are.
