Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: While cars are becoming more connected and software-based, one aspect of automobiles remains the same – car keys. The India-based automotive technologies firm, Keydroid, aims to bring about a change by introducing the Jarvis smart car key that brings in some industry firsts to highlight the innovative product engineering capabilities of India.
Keydroid was founded in 2022 with the vision of creating, engineering and owning the automotive technology in India instead of merely assembling or rebranding existing technologies. By launching Jarvis, the firm aims to establish itself as an Indian technology brand that can compete at an international level.
The introduction is a big step for Keydroid considering it claims that Jarvis is the world’s first smart car key that comes equipped with a six button vehicle system along with alcohol detection as one of the standard features. Engineered entirely by Keydroid, Jarvis comes with a combination of elegance and intelligence with features such as capacitive glass touch screen, leather finished look, neon glow lights, high resolution LCD screen, fast USB type C charging and battery life of up to 45 days.
It also features Find My Device for Android users, smart battery management, live battery status, passive keyless entry, auto lock and unlock, and high-speed user interface. The hardware and design of the product offered by Keydroid are protected via worldwide design patents. This shows the commitment of the company to developing new intellectual property.
The founder and CEO of the startup, Rajat Jaiswal, considers the launch to be the result of his entrepreneurial experience formed under the influence of curiosity and innovation. Professionally a commercial airline pilot, he has been running successful businesses from other industries, including F&B. The entrepreneur’s interest in cars made him notice that the car key has not changed for a long time despite the development of vehicle technology.
This inspired him to create the company and its product. It allows making the car key more intelligent and convenient for the vehicle owners.
Rajat Jaiswal, the founder & CEO of Keydroid, on the occasion of the launch said, “Jarvis is more than just a smart car key. Jarvis marks the start of an interconnected automotive system where the car key takes the form of a smarter companion for each automobile owner. We wanted to show that automotive technology of the highest class can be created and controlled by an Indian company.”
Going forward, Keydroid has planned to develop Jarvis into a bidirectional channel which would not only communicate back to the owner but will also be able to display updates on vehicle health and services, alert them of maintenance and insurance and registration renewals, all while staying open to receive over the air software updates.
Keydroid also plans to expand in the Chinese market, thereby becoming one of the first Indian smart car key brands to do so in one of the toughest automotive environments in the world.
In the context of Jarvis, what Keydroid has done is not merely come out with an automotive add-on. They have established an ecosystem for connected mobility, and they have shown that Indian companies can create and export world-class automotive technology.
