Surat, Gujarat : Though the cons of CORONA virus are grave, the pandemic has proved to be the best time for family bonding. We at GDGIS strongly believe in promoting the emotional health along with the academic learning. Grandparents’ day event planned for the students of Pre-Primary was a robust effort to showcase the idea that no crisis can dampen the spirit of the exultant Goenkans.
The virtual grandparents’ day celebration was organised on 12th of September 2020 through the online platform by the school. While this event gave a chance to the young Goenkans to express their love for their grandparents, the talent hunt brought out the creativity and hidden talents of the elderly too. The program commenced with an address to the masses by the Principal, Dr.Moupali Mittra; followed by a funfilled interactive session.
Massive entries were received towards the participation in the talent show, out of which 10 brilliant performers were sorted to be the best entries, who presented a live platter of musical songs and rhythmic dance performances. The event comprised of various rounds of quiz and thrilling games. The winners for various activities were awarded Organic gift hampers. Also, all the participants were awarded e-certificates for their outstanding participation.
The program was graced by the Chief Speaker: Mr. K N Agarwal. He added spark to the event by throwing light upon the topic – “The Changing role of grandparents in the light of changed social dynamics”.
The curtains fell with the national anthem being played on the keyboard by Ms.Manju Agarwal, Myra Agarwal’s grandmother.
